As Value and Access Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering UK market access strategies that help secure timely patient access to AstraZeneca medicines. Working across national, regional and local environments, you will co-lead high-quality Health Technology Assessment submissions, support pricing and access strategy, and partner with cross-functional colleagues to build compelling value propositions for payers and healthcare stakeholders.

Accountabilities

  • Co-lead the development and delivery of high-quality HTA submissions in close collaboration with Health Economics colleagues and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead AstraZeneca engagements at product level with national HTA organisations, helping to shape evidence strategy and execution.
  • Develop and deliver UK access and pricing strategies for launch and in-line brands, working with local and global stakeholders.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the UK market access environment, including national, regional and local access and funding pathways.
  • Engage national, regional and local stakeholders through appropriate processes to secure access and funding for AstraZeneca medicines.
  • Lead AstraZeneca responses to clinical guidelines and access-related Department of Health, NICE and NHS England consultations, collaborating with Government Affairs and other stakeholders.
  • Represent AstraZeneca on external working groups to support future access policy development and raise AstraZeneca’s profile.
  • Co-develop national and local value propositions to support engagement with payer stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with AstraZeneca and ABPI governance frameworks and policies.

Essential for the Role

  • First degree in economics, life sciences or a related discipline.
  • Relevant healthcare, pharmaceutical industry or consultancy experience.
  • Experience of HTA submissions and a strong understanding of evidence requirements for value arguments based on clinical evidence and cost-effectiveness.
  • Strong understanding of UK market access, access and funding pathways, and the NHS environment.
  • Demonstrable leadership, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong project management capability, with a track record of delivering through collaboration to agreed timelines.
  • Experience of customer relationship management and working effectively in a complex matrix environment.
  • Ability to work compliantly within pharmaceutical industry governance frameworks and policies.

Desirable for the Role

  • Master’s degree in evidence-based medicine, epidemiology or a related discipline.
  • External management consultancy experience.
  • Experience managing external suppliers.
  • Advanced Excel and data handling or insight software capability.
  • Excellent understanding of, or experience working within, the NHS.
